Those citizens who did not vote in the August Primary can vote in the November General Election using an AV ballot by completing an Absent Voter Ballot Application, which is located in the Clerk’s section of the Meridian Township website. The Clerk’s Office is open from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday, and until 7:00 pm on Thursdays in October. Voters who wish to early vote at the Township Municipal Building, or pick up their ballot at the Clerk’s Office, can do so beginning September 24th, which is 40 days prior to Election Day. The Post Office is reporting that it may take up to a week to deliver ballots, so voters who have not received their AV ballots by the first week in October should contact the Clerk’s Office at 517.853.4300. “Most citizens who received an AV ballot for the August 4th Primary will automatically receive their November ballot in their mailbox, without needing to complete another application, because they checked the box for both elections on their initial application,” stated Township Clerk Brett Dreyfus. The Meridian Township Clerk’s Office will begin mailing Absentee Voter (AV) ballots on September 24th to all Township residents who completed an Absent Voter Ballot Application for the November 3rd General Election.
